Google Merchant Center Operator Flow
End-to-end Google Merchant Center operator workflow.
Goal
Generate a merchant/feed-oriented GMC package for one product, review it, and copy it for feed or merchant-listing use.
Preconditions
- The product exists in WooCommerce.
- The product has basic facts filled in, such as title, pricing, and any important attributes you already know.
- Your brand baseline is set reasonably well in Business Context.
Steps
- Open the WooCommerce product in the editor.
- Review the product facts first. GMC output is stronger when the product already has useful attributes, category data, image signals, and at least some real product details.
- Optionally run normal Generate Content first if the product record is still thin and you want MerchantDrafts to build stronger product context.
- Open Marketing Material.
- Switch to Google Merchant Center.
- Check the GMC instructions bar. If it says None set, you can still generate, but persistent GMC-specific guidance is not configured yet.
- Click Generate GMC.
- Review the output package:

- If the direction is close but not ideal, adjust What to Emphasize for this product or the GMC workspace instructions in Settings, then use Regenerate.
- Click Copy when you want to reuse the result outside the plugin.
Validation
You should end up with:
- several factual title options
- one merchant-oriented description
- a list of present attributes
- a list of missing facts worth checking
- short image-readiness guidance
The result should feel more factual and merchant-safe than ad copy.
Failure Recovery
- If the output feels too promotional, tighten the GMC workspace instructions and check that your Writing Pattern is not pushing overly ad-like phrasing.
- If important facts are missing, add them to the product data first and generate again.
- If the output is too generic, improve Business Context and use What to Emphasize for product-specific direction.
Notes
- This workflow does not directly sync to your real Google Merchant Center account.
- This workflow does not write to the WooCommerce description fields.
- The GMC workspace is for review and copy, not one-click publishing.
